Football Club

Commitment, vision, and growth on and off the field.

In 2006, Ivano Boscolo Bielo became president of Sottomarina Lido Calcio, a club playing in the Promozione division. Under his leadership, the club won the league and was subsequently promoted to the Eccellenza division.

In 2011, after the failure of A.C. Chioggia Sottomarina, the then mayor of Chioggia, Giuseppe Casson, asked Ivano Boscolo Bielo to take over the presidency of the town’s only football club. Consequently, Sottomarina, under the leadership of Boscolo Bielo, decided to change its name to Clodiense, adopting the maroon colour, with the aim of becoming the city’s premier team.

The following year, the club was promoted to Serie D, a division in which it played consistently for around a decade, achieving regular placings in the mid-to-upper reaches of the table.

In June 2019, the club reverted to its historic name, Union, along with its original 1971 logo. Thus, Union Clodiense Chioggia Sottomarina was founded, recognised as the team representing the town of Chioggia and the heir to the footballing tradition that began in 1971.

The club’s journey of growth culminated in its historic promotion to Serie C, achieved at the end of the 2023–2024 season, 47 years after its last appearance in professional football. On this occasion, the club officially adopted the name Union Clodiense Chioggia FC and embarked on a major project to upgrade and modernise the city stadium, which has now been transformed into a truly outstanding, modern and functional sports facility.

Although the following season was unfortunately unsuccessful and ended in relegation, it nevertheless laid the foundations for the development of a new sporting project. Union Clodiense currently hold second place in the Serie D league table, with the clear objective of securing promotion once again.
